The tale of my time since graduation can get long. So here’s quick sketch. (Joe Maccolini says he wants the razzamatazz version, so I will share that if there is interest). Went to Livingston at Rutgers through 2/22/72. Took ‘leave of absence” - for ten years. In that decade I ran a couple of communally run businesses, hitchhiked upwards of 25,000 miles with backpack and guitar, connected to my voice teacher/mentor, Frank Baker, worked with the Edgar Cayce Foundation and was a full time busker in Cambridge and Boston. Returned to school at Lesley College on 2/22/82 (yes that’s right). Graduated with a Bachelors in Music, started teaching in independent schools then performed in unusually successful children’s troupe in Virginia. Got a Master in Education from Harvard while still playing coffeehouses, running an after school program and performing modern dance. Began teaching full time in 1988 then was wooed to Virginia to start a private school (Flint Hill School, Oakton, VA). Pivoted again to attend University of Hawaii and earn Masters of Fine Arts in Theater: big emphasis there on Asian theater which has lots of incidental music. I composed and/or directed a long list of shows which I can say more about. Stayed in Hawaii and developed my business as a writer, curriculum innovator , musician, teaching artist, storyteller and actor. Lots of great work including co-starring with Keifer Sutherland, Mark Strong and Robert Carlyle in To End All Wars, as Norman….. and having one of my songs (and my band) appear on Hawaii Five-O. I was on Founding Faculty of SEEQS Charter Middle School. My work as a Teaching Artist and cultural entrepreneur revitalizing our crime ridden downtown neighborhood are both passions. I live with my wonderful partner, (Dr.) Anna Stirr in Honolulu, on the slopes of Leahi (Diamond Head)
