PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES

Professional Education/ Training:

Millersville University - BS in Elementary / Special Education

Bloomsburg University- MEd in Special Education and Administrative Supervision

University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana- EdD in Career/Vocational/Technical Education with Special Needs Emphasis


- Began teaching career in Norristown, PA with transition-aged (14-21yrs) students with disabilities at Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (1974-1979)

- Since then have enjoyed a variety of teaching & training experiences with both students & teachers during the past 40+ years in the following roles:

Classroom Teacher, Vocational Learning Facilitator, Statewide Extern & Preservice Instructor, Career Placement Counselor, Assistant Professor @ BU and Educational Consultant/ Trainer in 3 counties for Capital Area Intermediate Unit. Also participated on PA State Leadership Team, Advisory Council for Transition & Career Development and Capital Region BrainSTEPS Team.

- Currently: Have been retired since October 2019 ( right before COVID) and have been caring for my almost 93 yr old mom through a series of ongoing health & mobility issues & hospitalizations.


PERSONAL LIFE / EXPERIENCES


Married (1981-2008) / 2 grown children:

- Daughter (elementary teacher & technology liaison)

- Son ( physical therapist practicing in NJ)

- no grandchildren yet

Precious 8 yr old Cavachon pup (Lucy) who always manages to show up during zoom meetings


- Lived in the Midwest (Illinois 1979-1985); Bloomsburg (1985-1986) & Harrisburg (1986-present)

- Spent 6 weeks abroad visiting England, France, Russia, Amsterdam & Belgium

- Visited The Bahamas & Antigua and traveled to several “long- distance- away-from-home states” (e.g. - California, Georgia, Florida,Texas, & Vermont)- - mostly all before my kids arrived

- Enjoy Contemporary Christian music, gardening, spending time w/ friends whenever possible, and trying to figure out now what belongs on my bucket list

- What I miss most from my hometown? CHARLIE’S PIZZA!! Which is gone now after a very long history!! :(:( and of course Corropolease Tomato Pie & Pudge’s Cheesesteaks (they just don’t have anything comparable out here!) and Running into friends from BKHS! ❇️
